Simulation test equipment of coupled hydra-mechanics of shales

Abstract:
The formulas of calculating extraordinary low permeability and semipermeable membrane efficiency of shales through pressure transmissicai technique were deduced. The technique of pressure transmission test was established after developing the simulation equipment of hydra-mechanics coupling of shales. Shales' extraordinary low permeability and semipermeable membrane efficiency of shales and water based drilling fluid system were measured quantitatively. The results prove that semipermeable membrane efficiency exists between extraordinary low permeability shales and water based drilling fluids, and the semipermeable membrane efficiency relates to the kinds of inorganic salt. The shales' permeability and semipermeable membrane efficiency can be changed by physi-chemical method.
