Abstract:
In order to develop a general model to estimate reservoir parameters and predict rock properties in anisotropic porous media, an anisotropic petrophysical model was proposed based on isotropic dual porosity(IDP) model, in which the anisotropy of rock velocity, the shale content of rock and the anomalous array of the mineral were considered. Anistropic differential media (DEM) theories and self-consistent approximation (SCA) theories were used to calculate the elastic moduli for a dry rock frame of rocks with aligned pore distributions. The fluid displacement parameters were calculated using Brown and Korringa model. Applied to the field data, the results show that the scattering deviation and measuring error of the model are little, and the model indicates a greater value in processing the comprehensive data of anisotropic rocks than IDP model does.
