Study on sintering characters of nickel and stannum powders

Abstract:
The formation, structure and properties of intermetallic compounds were studied using Ni-Sn powder sintered by powder metallurgy method. The results show that the intermetallic compounds of Ni3Sn2,NisSn, NigSa^ and NiSn could be made by mixing Ni-Sn powder, pre-compaction with 100 kN, warm compaction with 300 kN and sintering at 100 C for 15 h. The densities and hardness of compact sintered with Ni-Sn powder rise with the sintering temperature and the heat preservation time increasing.
