Experimental and numerical study of gas flow in PSC type cyclone tube

Abstract:
The gas flow in the PSC type cyclone tube was studied by experimental measurement and numerical simulation. The results show that the simulation result based on the Reynolds stress turbulent model is in good agreement with the measured result probed by the five orifice Pi tot-tube. It was shown that the effective gas-solid flow control in the cyclone tube was realized by the slots on the exit tube and the dust discharge cone, which was helpful in changing the flow characteristics and improving the performance of the cyclone tube.
