Preparation of a novel pour point depressant for diesel and its freeze-point effect

Abstract:
A kind of pour point depressant (PPD)3,6-0-1,2,3 > 6-tetrahydrobenzo-l, 2-anhydride ester and/or amide was synthesized via Diels-Alder reaction using maleic anhydride and furan as reactants. The determinant of acid value shows that the rate of production exceeds 90% . The measured cold flow plugging point of Daqing diesel indicates that the depressant belongs to paraffin-based oil having very low sensitivity to ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer( EVA) series PPD additives. The novel additive component combined with polymethacrylate asters (PAE) can reduce the cold flow plugging point of Daqing diesel by 7 C , and shows gcxxi synergy.
