Predicting reservoir distribution by applying method of seismic data structure characteristic

Abstract:
The main pay-bed of the eighth zone in Tahe Oilfield is a carfjonate fracture and fissure-carven type reservoir with very strong inhomogeneity, there are some difficulties of the hydrocarbon prediction. It is difficult to accurately predict the oil-water interface and discover the distribution and growth laws of the reservoir using the traditional reservoir prediction methods. In accordance with the special geological conditions of the zone, the method of seismic data structure characteristic was applied to hydrocarbon prediction for the Ordovician reservoir, and the division of the favorable block to the area in the oil zone and outside was carried out. 18 wells locations were designed in the favorable block and verified by the well drilling. These designed wells all have obtained high hydrocarbon production and good economic effect.
