Calculation and analysis of wellbore temperature field in deepwater drilling

Abstract:
The sea water temperature distribution in depth of Nanhai was obtained by data regression analysis. And the calculation formulas of wellbore temperature field during circulation or non-circulation terms in deepwater drilling were established based on the thermodynamics theory. The calculation results indicate that the insulating layer should be undamaged and large delivery capacity should be used for maintaining the temperature under circulation condition. When the pump stops, the wellbore temperature will be closing to the extraneous temperature with shutting time increasing. Shutting time must be short to prevent hydrates forming in wellbore and blowout preventer.
