Abstract:
To determine areal anisotropy in hydrocarbon reservoirs without tiring type-curve matching, a new method based on TDS (Tiab's direct synthesis) technique was presented to estimate the maximum and minimum directional permeability and its azimuth angle, average areal permeability as well as anisotropy degree. Firstly, the interference test pressure and pressure derivative curves of areal anisotropic reservoir were drawn. Then, the directional permeability between activation well and observation well was estimated by pressure and pressure derivative as well as dimensionless time at intersection point. Finally, the estimated directional permeability was incorporated into the quantitative calculation model of anisotropic permeability of the observation well, and the model can be solved. The results agree well with the results of field test.
