Drawing of reservoir section map based on OpenGL

Abstract:

Based on OpenGL technology，the reservoir section map along the x or y direction and the arbitrary direction that is perpendicular to strata direction was Tendered. First, the section and the body of reservoir must be determined. And a certain point in the view area is identified through mouse，then the linear equation in the two-dimensional plane is determined by this point. With the linear equation，the section of reservoir perpendicular to the stratigraphic trend can be determined. So the complex issue to calculate the crossed surface between the section and the body of reservoir can be converted into a simple one to calculate the crossed line between the section and many surfaces. The computed section is composed by the intersection between the calculated grid lines of all the surfaces and the section map. The accuracy and visualizability of the section of reservoir was verified by the three-dimensional section map of deposition facies between and S2 layer in 106 well field of some oilfield.
