Oligomerization of ethylene in FCC dry gas over different solid catalysts

Abstract:
Catalytic conversion of ethylene in FCC dry gas was carried out using various solid catalysts based on three kinds of ethylene polymerization mechanisms. The performances of catalysts in different action mechanisms were researched. The results indicate that the acid zeolite catalysts following a carbenium mechanism show better performance than that of catalysts following dimerization and double decomposition mechanism. Both pore structure and acidity of the zeolite catalyst influence ethylene conversion and catalyst stability, and HZSM-5 exhibits the best conversion capability and satisfactory stability of the catalysts studied.
