Abstract:
The aggregate morphology of gemini surfactants of alkylbene sulfonate DSDBS-2 was investigated by means of dynamic light-scattering ( D15) , transmission electron microscopy( TEM ) and freeze-fracture transmission electron microscopy (FF-TEM). The results show that when the mass fraction of DSDBS-2 is 10 一 15 times critical micellar concentrationT spheroidal micelles, rod-micelles,prolate-ellipsoid micelles and vesicles coexist, and the particle size range is mainly from 50 to 75 nm. Many vesicles are formed when the mass fraction of DSDBS-2 is 20 times critical micellar concentration. By heating to 60 ^ and dispersing with ultrasonic, the amount of vesicles reduced largely when the mass fraction of DSDBS-2 is 200 times critical micellar concentration. The special aggregation shape of DSDBS-2 formed at lower concentration is correspond to its unique structure.
