Oil gas water three phase flow simulation in water wet reservoir

Abstract:
It is difficult to get the parameters of oil gas water three phase flow in porous medium using experimental methods, and the present empirical models are usually not very accurate. In view of the above problem, a three phase fluid flow network model for water wet reservoir at near miscible condition was established. The possible three displacement processes in three phase flow were analyzed by using pore scale modeling method. The three phase relative permeability was obtained by simulating different saturation paths. The results show that water occupies small pores, gas occupies large pores and oil occupies intermediate sized pores after all kinds of displacements in water wet reservoir. Water relative permeability is only the function of water saturation. And gas and oil relative permeability are dependent not only on their own saturation and but also on the saturation history of the system.
