Horizontal tunnel pipeline anchor block push force solution and application based on virtual work principle

Abstract:
The statically indeterminate structure mechanics calculation model of the horizontal tunnel pipeline with anchor block was established. On the basis of solution basic hypothesis, the concept of stagnation point was proposed according to the model. Considering pipeline elbow node deformation compatibility condition, horizontal tunnel pipeline anchor block push force was derived based on virtual work principle. The anchor block push force analytic formulas were concluded with or without the friction force. Applying the analytic formulas and finite element software, anchor block push force of X80 steel tunnel pipeline with large diameter(1219 mm) from west east gas project was calculated. The calculation results show that anchor block push force increases with the pipeline wall thickness and diameter increasing, and the corresponding relation presents linear approximately. The analytic solution agrees well with numerical results, and the maximum relative error is only 4.2%. It demonstrates that analytic formula calculation results can satisfy engineering requirements. The validity of the results was verified.
