Experiment on profile control and flooding by multiphase foam system

Abstract:
A multiphase foam system was prepared with gas liquid foam and polymer gelled microsphere, and the experiments of this system flowing in porous medium were curried out. Micrographs show that the ploymer gelled microsphere has good psephicity and dispersed property, and the ploymer microsphere distributes over the liquid film and plateau boundary of multiphase foam. The experimental results show that the polymer gelled microsphere can move and plug in the core, which makes the injection pressure and resistance coefficient increase, and the succeeding water flooding still has a high residual resistance coefficient. The pressure drop fluctuates obviously when the multiphase foam plugs the core, which shows that the polymer gelled microsphere movement has an influence on multiphase foam system plugging ability. The distribution station of foam and multiphase foam in parallel core experiment is different, and the multiphase foam system has a better profile control ability than foam.
