Characteristics and field synergy principle analysis of new-type plate heat exchangers with different inclined angles

Abstract:
A new type of corrugated plate heat exchanger (PHE) -double chevron plate heat exchanger was simulated by using three-dimensional CFD software~ANSYS-CFX. TTie heat transfer and resistance characteristics of the heat exchanger with the inclined angle of 20o-70o were analyzed. Hie field synergy analysis was done for the double chevron plate with different inclined angle. Hie results show that the flow resistance coefficient of the working fluid in double chevron-type PHE decreases by about 8% , and the comprehensive performance increases by about 25% compared with the ordinary chevron-type one. The velocity field, temperature field and pressure field are the best synergy of double chevron-type PHE with the inclined angle of 20°.
