An efficient calculation method of transient pressure responses of horizontal wells with negative skin factors in triple-porosity reservoirs

Abstract:
In order to accurately describe the seepage flow characteristic of carbonate reservoir with multiscale pores,a model for pressure transient analysis of horizontal wells in triple-porosity reservoirs with multiple crossflow was established. The model was solved and the type curves were plotted by programming. By analyzing the flow streamlines1 characteristics of horizontal wells and vertical weHs in early stage of non-stationary flow, the similarities of the two kinds of models were found, and different skin factors were deiined. Based on this,the relations among different skin factors were developed and the effective well radius of horizontal w6ll was introduced. The results show that there are nine flow periods of the seepage flow of horizontal wells in carbonate reservoirs with multiscale pores. The comparison of the solutions from both the traditional and the proposed method indicates that the proposed method is correct and more applicable, and the problem of transient pressure responses of horizontal wells with negative skin factors is solved.
