Abstract:
The structure and properties of partial hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) and associating partial hydrolyzed polyacrylamide(AHPAM) used in the tertiary oil recovery process were compared. Based on their structure characterization, the increasing viscosity characteristics, temperature resistance, salinity resistance were tested. The microstructure morphologies of two kinds of polymer solutions were observed by using scanning electron microscopy. The influence of the hydrophobic groups on the polymer properties was discussed. The results show that compared with HPAM, the property of AHPAM solution is superior in the increasing viscosity characteristics, temperature resistance and salinity resistance due to the structure containing the hydrophobic grouping to form association among super-molecular structures.
