A simple and effective correction for momentum interpolation

Abstract:
A SIMPLE algorithm for collocated grid was proposed, which was used to solve incompressible flow problems. This algorithm is a simple modification for momentum interpolation. The derivation process of this algorithm is similar to that of the original SIMPLE algorithm. The effectiveness of this algorithm was verified with some benchmarked problems. In this correction, all velocities on the faces are calculated with algebraic method, and so the code possesses the advantages of simple programming and less memory footprint. This correction overcomes some mathematics shortcomings of the momentum interpolation, and can solve those problems that the computation results are dependent on the relaxation factor of velocity.
