Application of gravity, magnetic, electric and seismic comprehensive geologic modeling method for piedmont zone of Hala 'alate mountain in Junggar Basin

Abstract:
Complex terrain of piedmont zone results in low-quality seismic data, and complex subsurface structure of piedmont zone leads to hard-to-image areas where seismic wave can 't propagate. Therefore, the structural model constrained seismically only usually has low reliability and strong non-uniqueness problems. This paper proposes a comprehensive joint gravity, magnetic, electric and seismic modeling method suitable for piedmont zone. Information from gravity, magnetic, electric and seismic data is fully used in each step of modeling, which reduces the non-uniqueness problem and improves the reliability of tectonic model. The results show that the core of this method is to simultaneously joint invert gravity, magnetic, electric and seismic parameters, which improves the accuracy of velocity model and results in a higher quality of seismic image. This method was applied to the Hala alate mountain area. The structural model is verified using drill cores. The proposed method is more accurate and reliable than methods only using seismic data to build model of piedmont zone.
