Abstract:
Numerical simulation of gas-liquid two-phase stratified flow between two walls was performed by solving 2-dimention uncompressible Navier-Stokes equation and Level-Set equation using high order finite difference schemes. And the influence of gas and liquid Reynolds numbers on the gas-liquid interfacial movement was also analyzed. The results show that the amplitude values and sweep area of interfacial disturbed waves increase with the fluid flowing. At the same time, the upriver and downriver interfaces develop un-symmetrically with appearing nail and bubble structure. The effects of gas and liquid Reynolds numbers on the gas-liquid interfacial movement are similar, expressly the interfacial shapes take on some difference. Correspondingly, the interface waves change more acutely with the increase of liquid Reynolds number.
