Method of recognizing preferred water flow channels with dimensionless pressure drop curve

Abstract:
Based on fundamental well test theory, the formula of dimensionless bottom hole pressure drop was derived. With the information of shallow reservoir in Jidong Oilfield, the numerical concept model of well groups was established. The dimensionless pressure drop plate under seven different permeability ranges and ten permeability difference coefficients were calculated and analyzed. The theoretical analysis and numerical concept model calculation results show that the dimensionless pressure drop can eliminate the effects of injection water volume, thick of water absorption lay, formation pressure on the bottom hole pressure drop. Under the studied reservoir conditions, the preferred water flow channels form when the permeability difference coefficient is greater than 6.
