Abstract:
Claw rotor profiles have a great influence on the performance of the claw vacuum pump. The straight claw rotor has cusps, which will result in serious gas leakage and deformation near the cusp. A novel profile of the straight claw rotor is proposed. Geometric theories of the straight claw rotor are also studied. By means of theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, the working performances and mechanical properties of the straight claw rotor with different circular arc radii in claw tip are compared, and the mixing process of the claw vacuum pump with different straight claw rotors is analyzed. The optimal range of arc radii in the claw tip of the straight claw rotor is obtained. The result indicates that the novel claw rotor improves mechanical properties and the sealing performance near the cusp. With the decrease of the claw cusp arc radius, the working performances of the claw vacuum pump are improved, and the optimal claw cusp arc radius ratio ε is in the range of 0.05714≤ε≤0.1143.
