Abstract: |
This study presents an estimation of the potential of hot dry rock (HDR) resources in Jianhu Uplift, Subei Basin, demonstrating the feasibility of exploring HDR geothermal resources within the East China sedimentary basin. An integrated geological investigation was conducted, involving field work, laboratory measurements, and numerical modeling to assess the HDR geological conditions within the study area. Four geologic sections were utilized to construct 2D heat conduction numerical models, which were instrumental in comprehending the geo-temperature field and determining the estimated depth. Subsequently, a Monte Carlo simulation, employing the volume method, was applied to provide a reasonable potential estimation. This modified method effectively accounts for uncertainties associated with estimation parameters. The results show that the amount of recoverable heat resources of HDR geothermal resources within 3-10 km depth in Jianhu Uplift is about 44.6×108 tons of standard coal and the generation potential is 692 769.9 MWe,more than 49 times the annual electricity consumption of Jiangsu Province in 2022. |
