Analysis and application of model for solid particle movement in Newton fluid

Abstract:
Considering more universal conditions, an integrated model for solid particle movement (ascending or descending) in Newton fluid was developed with any fluid velocity and denBily of solid and fluid. According to the present experiment results ,the precision of all calculation correlations for resistance factor in transition zone and laminar zione was compared. And then, the particle^ moving velocity transition chaiacteristics from one flow pattern to another were analyzed. The analysis indicates that (he reaultB ail resistance factor calculation models in laminar zone are very closing wilh good coherence. In transition zone, ihe catculaticm precision of Dou, Dong, Ktmhko, Allen and Gang's resistance factor model,in this order varies from good to bad. The moving velocity changes smoothly from Uminar sone Id transition zone, and jumps from transition to turbulent zone,
